CZ DUTY 4.0 C

About this product
Some customers want to build; some want to open a box and go shooting. For the second group, CZ's new DUTY 4.0 lands beside our ready-made pistols as a factory-assembled, factory-serialized 9mm with nothing left to finish. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm with a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame that is modular, because the serial number lives on the internal chassis. The slide is milled for direct-mount red dots; CZ's photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield units fitted.
Choose C for a compact that holds 15+1, or 17+1 with the extended base plate, at 770 g and 135 mm tall. Choose F for a full-size that holds 17+1, 19+1 extended, at 780 g and 143 mm. Both have a 4-inch unthreaded barrel, 7.4-inch overall length, fixed sights and a refined SFDA trigger at roughly 5.6 lbs with a 4 mm reset. The MS versions add a manual thumb safety for shooters who want a lever. Suggested retail from CZ: $729.
Pick the C when the gun has to disappear under a cover garment. It gives up two rounds to the service-size model (15+1 against 17+1) and about 8 mm of grip height, and in return it is 5.3 in (135 mm) tall and 27.2 oz (770 g) light.
Three things define the DUTY 4.0. First, a registered modular chassis: the registered part is inside, the polymer grip around it is modular. Second, the trigger, a striker SFDA rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs), 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel, which is short and repeatable for a service pistol. Third, a direct-mount optics-ready slide, shown by CZ with Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted, so a dot sight sits low without a stack of plates.
There is no manual safety on this model. Drop safety comes from the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the trigger-bar safety, the way most modern striker-fired pistols are set up. If you want a frame-mounted lever, the MS version has one.
Who is it for: daily carry, a bedside gun that also rides along, and new owners who want one pistol for everything. If you already shoot a P-10, the DUTY is the next step in the same family, with a new chassis and the optics done right.
Kits and parts go to your door; a complete pistol like this one goes to your FFL. At checkout, name the dealer who will receive it, and we ship the DUTY 4.0 to them. The dealer finishes the transfer and applies the rules of your state when you come in to collect it. If you have never used a dealer for a transfer before, any FFL that accepts inbound handguns can do it.

Frequently asked questions
- Is there anything to assemble on the DUTY 4.0?
- Nothing. It arrives as a complete, factory-serialized pistol, unlike the kits elsewhere on this site.
- Which DUTY 4.0 should a first-time pistol buyer choose?
- The F full-size gives the most grip and 17+1 rounds; the C compact trades 8 mm of height and two rounds for easier carry. Both run the same trigger and optics cut.
- Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines?
- CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
- Is the compact easy to shoot?
- It shares the 4-inch barrel and slide with the full-size gun, so the sight radius is the same. Only the grip is shorter.
